How did you get into modeling and how long have you been modeling?

I started modeling when I was 11 years old and my parents put me and my younger brother in a local boutique's fashion show. After I saw myself in the newspaper, I was hooked. I became more independent when I was 16, and I started reaching out to and working with local Chicago photographers.

What are your modeling goals or what you seek to accomplish while modeling?

I am a petite model on a mission! Not for fame, money, or self-indulging trips to exotic locations, but to change the widespread perception of beauty. In my view, beauty isn't always a 5'10" 110 lbs. girl with perfect skin and long hair. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life, and I really hope that through my modeling I can instill higher self-worth back into the young girls of our society.

What has been your biggest gig so far?

My most exciting job so far has been working for Aquage at America's Beauty Show this year. Not only did I meet some amazing industry people, I also got a rocking' new haircut and got to flaunt it for the first time for some of the best hair and beauty professionals out there!

What is your dream modeling/acting gig?

Ever since I picked up my first Vogue magazine, I wanted to be the "It" girl who graced the cover (and of course was blessed with a 10 page spread inside). This dream can still become a reality for me, and everyday I'm taking more steps, and skips, and leaps toward it.

What are your favorite modeling areas?

I am fashion editorial. It's what I eat, sleep, and live. It's my favorite area of modeling, because it's my greatest challenge. Normally, petite models are not welcomed here and are told to stick to commercial print, but I am doing what I can to help create a niche for petite models in fashion editorial print work too.

Your favorite photographers you have worked with?

My absolute favorite photographers to work with are Nuru Kimondo, Luis DeAndre (Lui Dee), David Shinobi, and Jasmine Durhal (JassieUo). Aside from being phenomenal photographers, whether I worked with them once or 10 times, they've all poured something special into me that I will always keep with me throughout my modeling career.

Your favorite quotes?

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles." - Audrey Hepburn

What do you bring to the table as a model? In other words, what can companies agencies/photographers expect when working with you?

Aside from being quite the experienced piece of work, I am a very fun model to work with. I think out of the box with ease and prefer to be out of my comfort zone, in good taste of course. I enjoy being captured in beautiful moments, posed or not, so I'm always camera ready. I believe I'm a joy to work with for any talented, artistic, motivated, focused photographer or casting director.
